Happy Father’s Day!

Yes, Dad’s special day is this Sunday, June 16! As usual, we have you covered on the gift front. Father’s Day is the perfect time to get Dad a special bottle of wine, to enjoy with the family or by himself. We always have Dad’s favorite craft beers in 6-packs and bombers and now we also have a make-your-own mixed 6 pack so Dad can try something new without having to commit! Another idea would be to make Dad a game-time snack pack of our gourmet meats, cheeses and Mexican chocolates. Is your Dad a grill master? Come raid our Robert Rothschild rack for “grilling accessories” (sauces, spreads and rubs.) If you just can’t decide, a gift card is always a safe bet. With a gift card, Dad can treat himself to whatever he craves at the time!

Tasting Info

This week’s wine tasting pays homage to 2 great California-based winemaking Dad’s- Joseph Carr and Peter Mondavi. In honor of Father’s Day, we will taste one red and one white from each man’s winery.
This week’s beer tasting is all about the color wheel- we will sample a blonde ale, a brown ale, a black IPA (appropriately named Dad’s Little Helper) and a monster of an imperial stout. Bring Dad down for a brew on you!
As always, for the complete list, please click here.
Feature Item This week we are featuring a new “feature” of our store. We now have a “$10 and under” wine rack. We went through the store and grabbed our favorite value priced wines and put them all together for your shopping convenience. This is the place to find great everyday drinks in both red and white varietals. Check back often too, as this stock will be ever changing.
Dan’s Pick
This week Dan has chosen some of his favorite wines that have recently returned to our shelves. His first pick is Castillo de Monseran- Garnacha- 2010- Spain- $8.99. This red is fruity and full flavored. It can be served slightly chilled as an aperitif or drinks well at room temperature with meat dishes.
Dan’s second pick, Papillon from Orin Swift, has some good news and not so good news. The good news is our allotment this year was 30 bottles. The not so good news, it went up in price to $72.99 a bottle. By now you know our love of everything Orin Swift, but trust us when we say- it’s worth it!
Dan’s final pick this week is Fattori- Soave- 2011 from Italy. This wine has been marked down from $14.99 to $9.99. This Italian white has citrus and herb notes with a nice amount of minerality. It would pair wonderfully with seafood dishes or sushi.
Final Thoughts Whether you call him Dad, Daddy, Pop, Gramps, Papa, Step-Dad, Like-A- Dad or 2nd Dad- hug & love ‘em a little extra this weekend!
Happy Father’s Day!
Cheers!
