Feature Item R Wines- Chateau Chateau Skulls- Red Blend- Spain- 2010- $16.99
This wine from renowned winemaker (and Dan’s personal favorite) Chris Ringland, is pale and cloudy in color. It is a red blend- 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre. It is slightly sweet, with lots of fruit flavors and pronounced herbiness. If you like a light Pinot Noir or Beaujolais, this wine is for you!
Dan’s Picks This week Dan reverted back to 2 of his favorite things, French wine and (as previously mentioned) Chris Ringland. To wit, we have a bottle for each favorite. The first is the French bottle- Chateau Davril- Red Bordeaux- 2009- $13.99. This wine is 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. It is described as scarlet in color with aromas of violets and black currants that lead to a long and velvety finish.
The second favorite is another of Chris Ringland’s bottles- Sarah’s Blend- 2011- Spain- $13.99. It is a dark purple blend of Old Vine Syrah and Monastrell, featuring notes of smoke, earth, spice box and black fruits. It is described as full bodied with loads of ripe fruit and a long, smooth finish.
Final Thoughts With the April showers we have had the past couple of days and what the radar shows is coming, please stay safe and dry! We look forward to seeing you all, and the May flowers, very soon!
