June 17 (Saturday) - Brunch with Dad with the soon-to-be famous Dadwich! Sliced roast beef, peppered bacon, sliced pork, grilled bologna, carmleized onions, giardiniera, and provolone. That should make any dad happy!

June 24 (Saturday) - Huhn in June featuring Huhn from Michigan Family Farms. Delicious antibiotic-free, non-GMO, free range Amish chickens! Reservations will be required for this event. Weā€™ll start this dinner out with a beautiful Bruschetta followed by brined, grilled, and smoked chicken, corn and orzo salad, and cornbread, and weā€™ll be ending with apple pie and Dietsch's ice cream!

July - 14 (Friday) - Bastille Day 2023!!! Weā€™ll be serving our best french fare: pissaladiere, pommes frites, baguettes and fromage, along with special wines and beers all day long!

August 5 (Saturday) - Itā€™s National Oyster Day, so you know weā€™ll be celebrating.

Weā€™ve brought in quite a few new wines this week and are excited to share them with you. Weā€™re still huge fans of our Sashimi Grade Yellow Fin Tuna and we plan on keeping that in house through the summer. Our fresh Amish chicken continues to WOW everyone who takes home a pack and if you want to see for yourself how delicious it is call and get a reservation for Huhn in June while theyā€™re still available. Great Beers, great wines and unbelievable fantastic foods!

Weā€™re beginning the daunting task of creating a new wine list for the bar, this is obviously a task that requires both patience and the ability to consume, try many, many wines. I know itā€™s a tedious task but weā€™re always ready to take on this task so as to find just the right bottle to share with all of you.


Danā€™s Feature ā­ļø

This weekā€™s feature is a delightful, full-bodied Cabernet from the Columbia Valley. ā€œTruth Be Toldā€ 2019 Cabernet retails for $18.99, making it the perfect price for a weekend wine to pair with anything off the grill. Tasting notes describe it rather accurately: ā€œthe 2019 Truth Be Told Cabernet Sauvignon comes out of the gate roaring. An intoxicating nose of vividly bright fruits, wet stone and hints of tobacco notes all leap from the glass. A well-structured wine with juicy acidity is balanced by tiers of rich ripe berries, plum and licorice. A touch of new oak adds texture while layers of shaved chocolate and ripe tannins meld together to create a long, luxurious finish.ā€ This full-bodied blend is comprised of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and 6% Malbec. Pair this with our food special for the week, and I can guarantee a good weekend for you and yours.


Danā€™s Pick šŸ„‚

My pick this week is a little out of the ordinary: Villa Wolf 2021 Sauvignon Blancā€¦ from Germany. We tried this earlier in the week and were quite surprised. Priced at $12.99, itā€™s right there in the lineup for any back yard plans or sipping on the patio. The Villa Wolf Sauvignon Blanc ā€œis produced from fruit that has reached optimum ripeness, but is not over ripe. And only clean, healthy fruit (no botrytis) is allowed. The sandy loam soils of the Pfalz region produces fruit with excellent purity and varietal expression, resulting in wines that are fresh and juicy, with aromatic character and a crisp backbone of acidity.ā€ I never would have expected that I would enjoy this example of Sauvignon Blanc, but thereā€™s always a surprise down here when youā€™re tasting with sales reps. Give this wonderfully priced wine a shot -- you may find yourself as surprised as I was.




Food News šŸŸ

Copper River Salmon is back this week and has dropped a couple dollars per pound. Whereas last week on its initial placement, it was $29.99/lb, itā€™s dropped to $27.99 this week. Weā€™ll continue to bring it in, and hopefully weā€™ll see another price drop soon. On another note wand, let us know whatā€™s on the menu for Fathers Day? Weā€™ll have Wagyu Dry Aged Bone-In Strip Steaks, and I am planning on bringing in a few Tomahawks but would love for you to reach out and let us know if you would like any other special cuts. We always enjoy finding those specialty food items for special events or really anytime, so give us a call and weā€™ll find something special for you.


Food Feature šŸ„©

One-pound Choice or higher Ribeye Steaks. These are beautiful, pre-cut frozen steaks and will cook up to be a perfect summer steak off the grill. Thereā€™s nothing better than a good cut of ribeye off the grill, and maybe if youā€™re willing to share, you may only need one. BUT, seeing how each steak is a whopping 16 ounces and after watching everyone put away all the beef last weekend, I think two may be necessaryā€¦

Momma Mia, these are some tasty Oysters! Momma Mias hail from PEI. These magnifico oysters measure out to 2.5.ā€ A nice, medium brine with a slightly fruity finish. Weā€™re always trying to mix it up down here, and these oysters came across our path, so we decided why not give them a shot. Perfect size, fresh from PEI, with tasting notes that just make you want to try a dozen or two, fresh in today!

Weā€™re looking forward to both Fathers Day and Huhn in June. Ordering in something special for Dad is a priority that is rapidly approaching. Weā€™ve already begun to practice with the Huhn, and in my opinion, you would be hard pressed to find a cut of chicken anywhere that would be this tasty. Why not make plans for bothā€¦ order up a Wagyu Tomahawk for Dad and then also plan coming down for our next reservation event: our annual Huhn in June! Hope to see you soon...
